San Marcos High School senior defensive back, Prudy Calderon, who will play quarterback for the Rattlers next season, has received his sixth scholarship offer.
Despite productive sophomore and junior campaigns, which came with several offers, Calderon’s first offer didn’t come until after the season ended, but the offers have been coming through lately for the All-District selection.
Calderon’s sixth offer comes from the University of San Diego.

He now holds offers from Yale, Columbia, Army West Point, Jacksonville and Holy Cross in addition to the latest offer by the Toreros.
“Having these offers is more than I could ask for and is a blessing but it means nothing without production,” Calderon said. “I will work to help my team and my brothers, it’s a great thing we’re doing down here in (San Marcos) and I’m just glad to be a part of it.”
Aside from being an All-District selection, Calderon was also invited to the US Army All-American Combine, Nike’s The Opening and was named as part of the Austin-American Statesman’s 2016 All Central Texas team.
Calderon’s junior campaign was highlighted by four interceptions, three kickoffs returned for touchdowns and two forced fumbles. Aside from his defensive and special teams work, he was also utilized on offense as a deep threat and a rusher out of the backfield, where he scored multiple touchdowns.
